Be More than Mediocre
If you don't continually learn from the people you lead, you risk slipping into a monotonous routine where "good enough" is the acceptable standard for everything you do. If you're just going through the motions, leadership expert Linda Sasser explains why mediocre just doesn't cut it:
- As a leader, you have an opportunity to make a difference in whatever you do. You can impact the lives many kinds of people -- not just your "end user" customer.
- Every invoice you process, every box you ship, every product you market, and every customer inquiry has a face and a heart connected to it. Everything you do eventually leads back to a real person, and all your exciting and mundane tasks represent the people impacted by the quality of your work. So strive to make that work great. Every day.
